Photo Gallery

Welcome to our bird photo gallery.  Below you will find some of our favorite photos we’ve been able to capture over the years. If you are interested in the cameras we use for our images, please visit our bird photography gear page.

Most of our images are taken in Ontario, Canada. Living in St. Catharines means we get our fair share of species coming through the area at different times of the year. From Snowy Owls in the winter to Green herons in the Summer, Southern Ontario experiences all 4 distinct seasons with a wide variety of species in each one.

We are lucky to have some fantastic geographic advantages that lend themselves well to birding such as Lake Ontario, the Niagara Escarpment, and the Niagara River.  We also travel on bird photography trips to places such as Ottawa for specific birds such as the Great grey owl.

As you may have guessed, we are a huge fan of songbirds. Nothing is more exciting than a trip to Point Pelee for the annual spring songbird migration in early May. This gives us the chance to see many beautiful species in a short period of time.

Here are some of our favorite photos of birds in Ontario. We hope that these may inspire you to try bird photography for yourself.

One of the key moments of our bird photography journey was purchasing this book.  We had no idea that these amazing creatures were in our area. Seeing certain species in real life for the first time such as the Wood duck and Snowy Owl were surreal moments.

We have many more images to add as we continue building our website. For a better understanding of how we take these shots, have a look at the following bird photography tip:
